I love Spring! It's my favorite season every year. The newness of the growing things, makes me so happy. The smells, oh, you can't bottle the smells. So sweet and fresh, especially after a long winter and closed windows.
I love Summer! After Spring, Summer is the best. Warm temps, open windows day and night! I can wear no shoes! I love my shorts! The critters are making music outside, from birds to crickets, it's awesome! The flowers are blooming, each in their place and time. And the smells! And our reenacting season begins again!
I love Autumn! I usually don't really welcome Fall, it's the end of my glorious Summer and cold. No more shorts, or flip flops. Reenacting season closes, camping is done for the next several months. But you can't beat the season of change, and the colors that go with it. It's gorgeous, and stunning, depending where you are. And the smells!! The wood stoves are fired up again, and the ground has a different scent than it does in the Summer or Spring. Mmmm.
I love Winter! Well, maybe not love it, but I don't mind it, too much. It's cold, it's wet, it's slippery. It can be dreary and depressing. But it can also be bright, white and blinding. It can be refreshing, and crisp. Ok, Winter isn't so bad, it's just COLD!
A wide range of topics will be shared here, with the occasional photo dropped in where ever and when ever. It may happen well after a post is posted, but it doesn't matter, it's a work in progress.

No Cable, No Satellite!
We don't miss the commercials either!
Where we live, there is no cable TV available, we would have to order a DISH and contract with our local phone company for the subscription. But we have looked at it many times, they are sending us offers all the time, and we just don't want it.
We already have a DSL online subscription, and that is plenty. We can choose what we see, with no added fees and not be restricted by show times. We can easily skip all the junk TV and search for documentaries and programs we want to see. We can also take our kids on a walk down memory lane, and show them shows we used to watch!
We are not sports fans, so that too, is a blessing.
Home Made Laundry Soap
I make, I use it daily, because I love it!!
I learned about it from another blogger and friend who explained how she makes it.
http://www.bornimaginative.com/2011/04/homemade-laundry-soap.html.
I used her recipe for over a year and it worked great.
Recently, within the past few months, I have been trying a dry blend, and love it as well.
It is made with 1 cup Borax, 1 cup Washing Soda and 1 bar of Castile soap, shredded fine. Blend well, and use a small scoop, sadly I can't remember how small! I use a coffee scoop!
Then I found a blend for a very concentrated liquid soap, I made a big double batch of this and will not have to make more again for months! That recipe is here:
http://livesimply.me/2014/02/11/homemade-liquid-laundry-soap-all-natural-detergent/
If you decide to try any of these, I think you will be happy with it and enjoy paying so much less that for commercial laundry detergent!

Glue Gun
A few months ago, no, it was more like a year ago, I introduced my 9 year old daughter to glue guns. She took to it like it was in her hand from birth.
She has created amazing things, and found online videos of more instructions for making more things. Her passion if for Barbie size and American Girl size doll things.
The issue we are facing now is, for a girl with a small bedroom, who now has more doll things than said room can hold, there is little room left for her or all these wonderful things.
A clean out is in order, but it may come with a cost. Some things are going to have to be removed from the collection.
Pray for us, we will need it.
