Going Grey

My hair is going through the change, and its making me nuts!

I have curly hair, a gift from God. It has also taken a long time to finally start going grey. My sisters have been covering their grey for many years now, but my DNA must have a different blend because I am 51 and have had grey hairs showing up for about 2 years now, and my sisters are 4 and 5 years older than me.

What concerns me is this:  my grey hair is coming in either a) crinkled and wiry or b) straight and wiry.  What hair that still curls up after a shower is fine, it behaves as I want it to. Then my halo of grey hairs stand out, either like 4 inch long floating wires reaching for the sky or crinkled wrinkled hairs standing straight up. I tell my girls it's my antennae trying to communicate to the Mother Ship.

so far, my solution is to trip these rogue  hairs to the length of the dry curly ones, in hopes they blend in.  My hubby does not want me to start coloring my hair, and to be honest, I can't see my self doing that anyway. But what kind of hair will I have in 10 years?

Facebook

I know, I have heard them all, the many reasons why we should steer clear, but I can't, my family and friends are there!

My siblings are there, and we can catch up anytime we want.  It's cool to see what they and their kids are up to.

My friends from high school are there, and it's amazing that we are all 50 yr old adults, some with with kids!

My grown children are there, and it's great fun to touch base with them and see photos of their homes and loved ones and of their adventures. My grand babies are there, need I say more?

My church family is almost all there, and we can share prayer requests and info about topics we care about.

My neighbors are there, and it helps to build those valuable friendships. I have wonderful neighbors!

My reenacting family and community is there, they are a very special group indeed. Like minded in the old ways, and wanting to share that with others.

I also follow a variety of other groups, artists and news outlets. I go through waves of being on Facebook for hours, and then not going there for a few days at a time.  It all depends on my mood.

But I am grateful for the way I am able to use Facebook. I don't always care for the updates, but many of them don't effect me or how I use it. Those that do, I can adjust my settings, or close my account. I still have that choice.
